Being a Rafflesian may be a vastly different adventure for different people, but the spark of joy when a classmate asks “Anyone wants something from Chill?”, the anticipation of biting into a freshly-baked waffle, and the glee in comparing waffle flavours with friends are central parts of the RI experience. Raffles Press dives into stories behind the waffle-making process and what waffles truly mean to Rafflesians.

“Hasbro? No, Has Been”: CLUE, In Retrospect

On 13 May 2023, Raffles Players held their annual College Production at RI’s very own Performing Arts Centre. This year, they staged a sold-out show of Clue.

Three months on, Raffles Press looks back on the production, as well as its journey to the stage from two perspectives: the audience (Arissa) and Raffles Players themselves (Camillia).

Memento Mori, Memento Vita: An Evening to Remember

What would you do if you were locked in a room with a zombie?

That was one of the questions Raffles Film Society set out to answer on 28 July 2023, during their annual film showcase.

Following the theme “Memento Mori, Memento Vita”, the showcase focused on remembering the inevitability of death whilst remembering life. The films and documentaries explored this wide spectrum of themes – from exploring Singapore’s hidden gems to literal death. This evening was a culmination of the Y6s’ hard work, for them to finally present their passion projects to an audience.

A Day of Fasting

In light of the upcoming Hari Raya celebrations, and the end to Ramadan, Press has invited two students to try out “A Day of Fasting” alongside three of our Muslim Press members! Join these students in gaining a deeper understanding of Ramadan’s significance, as they undergo a day’s journey of fasting in school.

BREAKING NEWS: RI’s Largest-Ever Homeroom Reshuffle

There’s a price tag on everything. For RI’s upcoming major renovations and installations, the price tag is significantly heftier: a rotational displacement of classes. 

The constant droning of equipment within the school grounds should have signalled to everyone that renovations are underway in several parts of the school. From Block A to Block J, this process is a large-scale one that will spill over from the holidays and affect the daily lives of Rafflesians.
