Fighting to the Top: Netball A-Division Finals 2023

“I keep telling them that if they can overcome this, they can overcome anything in life.”

This is what Netball’s teacher-in-charge, Ms Shafa, had to say about the players before their NSG finals on 24 May. With two main players down after their match with ACJC on Monday, the Netball team refused to let this setback get them down. “The team still has that fighting spirit… [Coach’s] knowledge of Netball is very profound.”

Honouring the Past by Inspiring the Future: RI200 Founder’s Day

On 8 September 2020, RI started its 1000-day countdown to FD200 with the launching of the RI Bicentennial Wall and Countdown Timer. Since then, a flurry of activities have commenced, including the launch of the RI200 microsite, the virtual Raffles Archives and Museum, the 1823 Trees campaign, the English compilation “Some Dreams From Now: 135 Years of Rafflesian Writing”, the Mandarin publication “莱到两百年” (or “Our StoRIes”) and the Festival of Ideas.

CII 2023: Effects of Media on JC Students

This video is part of the 5th Edition of Cross Island Impressions. CII is a national student paper written by student journalists across Singapore. This year’s edition will comprise publications from teams spanning 8 different schools: DHS, EJC, HCI, NJC, NUSH, RGS, RI, and VJC. “If I Could Do This All Over Again, I Would”: Boys’ Water Polo Finals 2023

On 5 May, the Raffles Water Polo (Boys) faced off against Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) in the National School Games (NSG) A-Division final.  

RI had lost to HCI by narrow margins in the last two NSG finals, held in 2019 and 2022. 

However, having defeated HCI 7-6 in the semifinals on Monday (3 May), the team was sanguine about the prospects of crushing HCI’s winning streak, wrestling back the coveted trophy and reclaiming their title as champions.
