In this NSG season, RI’s tennis girls’ team reached the finals again. The arena buzzed with anticipation—student spectators started pouring in before the match started; On one side stood RI, and on the other, ACSI. That afternoon, both schools were going neck to neck for the champion’s title.

More Than Just Winners: Netball Girls NSG 2025

Every athlete dreams of victory. But when you’re part of a team, victory means more than just the medal around your neck. 

On 28 May, RI’s netball team rounded off this year’s NSG season with a final match for the gold against ACJC. But as they stepped out onto the court, winning was far from the only thing on their minds.

As a spectator walking into the stadium, the first scene you notice is the hockey players from both teams running laps, drenched by the sprinklers watering the pitch. The crowd is buzzing, councillors are drumming; both schools are setting the stage for one of the biggest NSG matches of the year. Then, for a moment, there is silence.

Confronting The Inevitable: Tennis Boys NSG 2025

They didn’t expect to win this year. In fact, speaking to the squad beforehand, defeat seemed almost inevitable to the team. After successfully ending a 9-year-long drought with a win the previous year, the stakes were high once again this year–a chance to defend the title, start a winning streak of our own, and cement RI’s reputation as the winners of a bitter rivalry between two schools.

Ten Years In Waiting, Heroes In The Making: Rugby NSG 2025

Tensions ran high on the field and in the stands—the odds were against Raffles Institution’s (RI) Rugby team. The high-stakes match was the team’s tenth consecutive final against Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) (ACSI), the defending champions. ACSI was looking to reclaim their title for the tenth year in a row but for RI, the “underdogs”, it would mean the world to achieve the elusive championship title.
