This year, the Girls’ Basketball Team under the leadership of our captain Choo Jieying and vice captain Sophia Ang, is aiming for the gold for the second year in a row in the A Division National Basketball Championship. With huge shoes to fill, the team trains hard 3 times a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Before our season starts, we have our annual weekend basketball tournament in January, followed by our training trip to Taiwan in March. With two major upcoming events, the team has been working hard since November and we hope to achieve great results during our season in April.

Noisy. Excited. Tenacious. Blessed. Accepting. Laughing. Loving.
This is who we are and what one can expect from the Raffles Netball family. To us, Netball is never just a CCA out of the many, but rather, it is our refuge, our comfort, and our passion. Netball has evolved to become more than just a game we train to win, but is the glue that binds us all together, bringing us closer through all the constant sweat, groans and aches, pushing one another to become better versions of ourselves.

Perhaps you’ve had an everlasting, burning desire to be a pilot since you were young. To coast through the clouds, zoom out above Earth. Perhaps you’ve considered multiple careers in the aviation industry, be it piloting, aeroplane engineering, aircraft maintenance, or even an aircraft janitor. Or perhaps you’ve long cast aside these dreams and regarded them as mere whimsicalities of childhood, now relegated to some nostalgic shelf in a corner of your teenage mind.
Well, we can’t do anything about that.

In Raffles, hockey is a developmental sport for girls. Embarking on this journey may be a little daunting at first but you will never be alone. Almost all of our girls have had zero experience prior to joining. Many were not even from a sports CCA. They all took the first step starting from scratch and we grew together.
