CCA Previews ’22: Raffles Archives and Museum

Echoes and whispers reverberate from the white and green walls of the school grounds as you head to the gates after your afternoon CCA session. Are your senses playing tricks on you? Has the stress and fatigue of JC life finally caught up with you? As you walk past rows of monochrome stills preserving alumni memories from a distant past, shelves of yesteryear’s trophies and awards, and lastly the imposing bust of Raffles himself outside the RGC, you will find that it is quite the contrary. Your dull spirits are instantly uplifted, your aching muscles are miraculously soothed, and an unknown warmth envelops your heart.

Can this be the work of the supernatural? What can explain this peculiar occurrence?

CCA Previews ’22: Outdoor Adventure and Activities Club

Look no further and join us as we trek through the wilderness, brave the river’s choppy torrents during our kayaking sessions and gather around the warm embrace of a fire during our bonfire sessions with the rest of the ODAC family. 

Here at ODAC (Outdoor Adventures and Activities Club), kayaking and bonfire sessions are just some of the many hands-on activities that we offer. Others include indoor caving, outdoor cooking, and cycling.

CCA Previews ’22: Film Society

A hundred years ago movies were silent, and black-and-white, and people called them pictures. And when they filed into cinema halls and were moved to tears or laughter by the silver screen, they desired also to think and to talk about what they had seen. From this desire emerged the first film societies: in Paris, then London, then New York. They became bastions of critical appreciation and creative collaboration; meanwhile the burgeoning form of cinema was swiftly recognised and established as the seventh art — le septième art.
