Join Raffles One Earth, a group of like-minded individuals dedicated to promoting practical, scalable, and purposeful changes that benefit our environment. CCA Schedule:
Every Wednesday morning from 9-11 am
As a member, you’ll participate in essential audits across the school, focusing on:
- Energy utilisation
- Recycling rate
- Waste reduction
These audits provide invaluable insights into RI’s sustainability initiatives and offer opportunities for meaningful change. Collaboration with the school’s estate department, juniors from RI and RGS, and even external partners will be an integral part of our journey.
Past Achievements
In the past, Raffles One Earth organized an immensely popular escape room event during the Inter-House Champions in term 2. This event revolved around saving Mother Nature and showcased our commitment to waste reduction and lowering our carbon footprint. For e.g. Prizes for the event was limited edition Raffles themed merchandise from previous years.
In 2023, our dedicated members rolled out four informative infographics during Earth week, shedding light on often-overlooked but impactful sustainability areas:
- Promoting awareness about RI’s solar panels and their role in offsetting energy usage.
- Explaining the lifecycle of recyclables in RI.
- Highlighting energy usage in RI and the school’s efforts to reduce consumption.
- Collaborating with 10 sports CCAs to recycle over 1000 drink cans during the sports
We also produced an educational video detailing our learning trip to RI’s rooftop solar panels, courtesy of the school’s estate department.
Looking Ahead
2023 was a great year for the CCA and as the teacher in charge, I got to work with a group of great students. We have no Y5 members in 2023 and I am excited to start anew in 2024, with even greater enthusiasm and innovative sustainability projects in mind.
