What is squash? Squash is a high-intensity racket sport where players take turns to hit the ball against the front wall in an enclosed court. Don’t be fooled by how boring it sounds—squash is both physically and mentally demanding. While the black squash ball might be tiny, if hit with the right technique, it can reach unbelievable speeds of up to 280km/h!

CCA Previews ‘23: Raffles Debaters

How long is 8 minutes to you? That’s quite a long time if you’re sprinting for a 2.4km run, or waiting for a reply after apologising to an angry friend. But if you’re talking to a debater, they would tell you that they regularly hit 8 minutes in their speeches. If you debate, in these 8 minutes, you would have constructed a case that wields moral, logical, and emotional superiority, deftly dismantled your opponents’ arguments, and displayed your oratorical finesse. In these 8 minutes, you’ve defended democracy, fixed food shortage, and overcome climate change—you’ve never been prouder to propose.

Vocal Delights 2022: Déjà Vu

On the second Sunday of December, Raffles Chorale gave us two hours of incredible musical delights to anticipate, which have become two  hours of memorable performance we wish we could relive again.

Being Raffles Chorale’s first live comeback since 2019, dozens of Rafflesians, friends, and families of performers eagerly streamed into LT2 to get a glimpse of what they’d missed for the last three years.
