Reading Time: 3 minutes

By Heng Teng Yi (21S05A), Chairperson, Liao Yu (21S06S), Vice-Chairperson, and Ang Shi Xuan (21S06N), Quartermaster

Automatica? We know what you’re thinking: what CCA is that? Trust us, we were once in your shoes too. After all, it is undeniable that our CCA name does not give any details about the nature of our CCA. It’s not even an actual word. So what does it mean? To be honest, we have no idea either.

What we can tell you though is that we are a robotics club. Our interesting CCA name aside, we are a dedicated, innovative and chill CCA, committed to making our mark on the history of robotics (or so we hope).

Imagine walking through a boulevard, down a path lined with exotic plants, with the likes of selaginella spikemosses, Indian snakeweeds and seven golden candlesticks plants lining the footpaths. The faint scent emanating from the butterfly pea flowers wafts up to your nares, and you stop to admire the grass yellow and tiger butterflies flitting about the flora. This picturesque scene sounds like something out of a Disney movie, but being able to appreciate this sight yourself isn’t as far-fetched of an idea as you think. Look no further than our very own Mendelian walkway, the sheltered walkway between the Marymount gate and the eco-pond.

CCA Previews ’21: RECAS

Reading Time: 4 minutes

By Yang Yiran (21S03D), Chairperson

Hello from the Raffles Economics and Current Affairs Society! RECAS members are often asked “So, what do you do in CCA?”, probably because of our cryptic name which reveals little about the inner workings of our club. Contrary to what some may presume, we are by no means a “GP/Econs mugging club”! Instead, we aim to explore topics relevant to economics and current affairs beyond the syllabus and engage members in stimulating conversations which produce nuanced perspectives and enrich our worldviews.
