Here at Raffles Football, we firmly believe in our motto, “Believe, Desire, Teamwork”, and we uphold this mantra in everything we do, on and off the pitch. We are a developmental CCA, but that certainly does not make us a recreational CCA.
When you train with us, be prepared to put in your 100% and push yourself beyond your limits both mentally and physically. Every training session is a chance for you to improve, be it in terms of stamina, technical ability or physicality.
Just about anyone can join the football family here at Raffles. Whether you are an experienced football player, or even a pure beginner who wants to learn more about the beautiful game, we will welcome you with open arms.
Many members of our team have close to no prior experience but despite that, they are still able to develop the skills required for us to be competitive and fight for the A-Division National School Games Championship title every year.
Our coach, Mr Iqbal sets high expectations for us, and pushes us to improve every training. Mr Iqbal is a strict yet fatherly figure that never fails t
crack jokes and banter with the team during training.
Nevertheless, he is an excellent coach that you can always rely on. He has impeccable knowledge on football-specific methods such as drills, workouts, injury prevention and recovery methods that can help you improve and optimise your game, even if you have just started.
We usually train 2 times a week: Monday and Thursday, from 4.30-8.00pm but we often have friendly matches and physical training sessions as well. Though intense, our training sessions are always enjoyable. You can expect our training sessions to consist of possession games, passing drills, set pieces, shooting practice, and they almost always end off with a 11v11 match.
Mr Iqbal also teaches us many tactics to give us the competitive edge over other teams and we usually implement these tactics in the 11v11 game at the end of our training sessions.
Here at Raffles Football, we not only have the latest technology to help us track and analyse our friendlies, but we also have one of the best astroturf pitches in Singapore, complemented by the bright floodlights that are a pleasure to play under after the sun goes down.
As footballers are like a closely-knit family, there are always seniors from previous batches coming back, in spite of their busy lives, to provide the current batch with invaluable advice, as well as to give us enough players to train efficiently.
We also organised Gryphon’s Recall earlier this year, which was a small-sided mini tournament where we invited football batches of old Rafflesians back to compete and have a good time.
Joining Raffles Football will help you develop holistically, both as a footballer and as a person. Our coach emphasises that we train not just to get better at the sport, but also to become better people.
Believe, Desire, Teamwork: these are the three values that every Raffles Footballer keeps close to his heart.

We here at Raffles Football welcome you to Raffles Institution. If you’re interested in joining Raffles Football or would like to know more about the CCA, feel free to contact any footballer for more information and join us at CCA trials!
