Reading Time: 2 minutes

Looking to improve your art skills? Wanting to explore the different forms of art? Or just looking for the chance to draw more? Then Art Club might just be the place for you!

Our biweekly sessions (Wednesdays and Fridays) are a time for us to explore the various art forms and their different mediums through a range of workshops. This year, we’ve had workshops ranging from pattern making to weaving to portrait painting with pastels.

In our latest session, we got started on learning how to use soft pastels.

We also have occasional CCA outings to museums to learn more about different artists or sketching trips to, well, sketch. Earlier in the year, we went to see the Yayoi Kusama exhibition at the National Gallery Singapore.

Here at Art Club, we also use art to benefit the wider community. As part of our pattern making course, we collaborated with Singapore Fashion Runway to design clothing for the very meaningful “Fashion for a Social Cause”. Some of our members even helped model the clothing we designed for the runway show!

We also hold an annual exhibition, Art Season, to showcase the artworks of our members to the rest of the school and the public.

No prior experience is required for Art Club. As long as you have an interest in art, you’re welcome to join! So if you’re interested, just come down to Y1-4 Artspace with your portfolio or sketchbook (if possible) for our CCA trial!
