After a fiercely contested match against Victoria Junior College (VJC), RI emerged victorious in a dramatic shootout, reclaiming the national title for the first time in over a decade. 

Just weeks earlier, the same team had suffered a 3-0 defeat to VJC during the round robin stage. For many, the result reinforced VJC’s reputation as one of the strongest teams in the A Division competition. For RI, however, this temporary loss offered direction.

CCA Previews ’26: Hockey

ONE TEAM! RAFFLES! Game face on. 

Push, sweep, hit; score, celebrate. 

You may be wondering, what is Hockey? Is it floorball on the field? Ice hockey, minus the ice? Being a lesser-known sport, hockey may seem daunting at first. Such apprehension increases when one catches a glimpse of players decked out in their full protective gear, shin guards and gloves galore. However, hockey is not as intimidating as it seems. The goal of the game is simple: two opposing teams of 11 players each use sticks to hit a ball into the opponent’s goal to score a point.
