First up, we take a look at the differences between school culture in the past and present, through conversations between alumni and current students:

‘Head Empty, No Thoughts’: Exploring Overthinking

You are at the party of your not-so-close friend. Someone suggests playing “Burning Bridges”. People sit in a circle facing each other. The first round starts with the people across you. They giggle and shove each other before pointing at you.

Hm, seems like something is funny, maybe I’ll ask them about it later.

Raffles Symphonic Band: SYF 2023

Nervous chatter and the soft sounds of the tuba and euphonium filled the Year 1-4 atrium. Raffles Symphonic Band’s teacher-in-charge was more overwrought about their upcoming concert at the end of May. Though an aura of nervousness lingered in the air, it was clear from the determined faces of the band members that they were going to make this performance count.

More Than Champions: Cricket Finals 2023

Spirits were high in the Cricket team’s bus on the morning of their NSG final, with music from a ‘hype playlist’ blaring from one of the athletes’ speakers.

Once Upon A Dream: Raffles Street Dance Showcase 2023

Does everyone dream? 

That was the question that Raffles Street Dance (RSD) sought to ask everyone on Wednesday night as a hushed atmosphere settled over the auditorium, charged with the anticipation of an expectant audience. Tensions were high – after all, it was the first post-pandemic showcase since 2019’s Homebound, and three whole years since the dancers had performed self-choreographed pieces for a live audience.
