The Great War: Rugby Finals ‘26

28th April 2026 was a normal Tuesday for every RI student—except members of Raffles Rugby. The bus was scheduled to leave at 2 PM, and the match was to start at 3 PM, but for all the players, the battle had begun the very moment they woke up that day. For after 10 consecutive losses against Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) (ACSI), this was yet another chance for Raffles Rugby to redeem itself. To snatch the trophy. To prove themselves worthy champions. Except that this time, they did it.

Rock Out ‘26: Barbie World

The bass hit first. That deep, booming sound rattled through the floor and took control of your body. Your legs felt fatigued from all the jumping, but you couldn’t help yourself.

“Come on, Barbie, let’s go party – Ah, ah, ah, yeah”

As the guys and girls hollered towards each other in a call-and-response, strobe lights swept across an audience 400 strong. It was barely past 7.30, yet the Esplanade Annexe studio had already come alive.

One Must Imagine the Year 6 Happy

A not-so-pleasant reality is that in Y6, there is a light that always goes out. With A-levels around the corner, it’s very normal for the average Year 6 to experience a sense of impending doom, accompanied by the constant feeling of dread. 

Sometime last week, I had a conversation with my GP tutor about the concept of Year 6 despair. “Suddenly you can tell that Year 6s walk with a bit more tiredness (and) solemnness”, he laughed mirthlessly, “they become more focused… it’s like (in Year 5) they don’t understand they need to know things but by Year 6, they’ll be like: oh, we really need to know this”. 

In Year 5, we had orientation, new classmates, and exciting events. Above all, we didn’t know what was coming for us, which is a stark contrast to that of the Year 6 experience—you actually have to lock in now. 

“You’ve got multiple eyebags stacked on top of each other.”

Anyways, on the idea of Year 6 despair: sure most of us have it, but how does it manifest itself? There are many ways your week can go wrong, but for simplicity’s sake, let’s move along to the common denominators of despair in Year 6.

Taekwondo NSG 2026: Taek-it–on!

Let the numbers speak first. 

RI Girls: 9 gold, 6 silver, 8 bronze. 

RI Boys: 4 silver, 6 bronze. 

Overall? RI Taekwondo finished in 2nd place–the Girls 2nd, the Boys 4th. Three years ago, RI’s Taekwondo team sat second-last, but now, they’re podium regulars.

Aiming For The Podium: Badminton NSG 2026

This year, both the boys and the girls of the RI badminton team arrived at the OCBC Arena Badminton Courts to battle it out for 3rd place. 

For the girls, it was a strong comeback after they failed to reach the Top 4 last year. For the boys, it was not the ideal placement they had hoped for. Yet, both were aiming for the same outcome.
