Some of us recognise him as the “Caucasian teacher who’s in good shape for his age”. Some know him as the International History teacher who had to endure the incessant chatter of opinionated Arts students for sixteen years. But to his students, he is most fondly known as “Mr Rolly”, the teacher who inspires and motivates in the best ways. Next year, Mr Michael Rollason will be leaving Raffles Institution (RI) in search of new and exciting expeditions as he traverses around the world, with packed bags and a lifetime of unforgettable memories from RI in tow.

We know it’s that time of the year where most of your friends are out of the country while you’re stuck in Singapore, but you don’t feel like getting started on those revision papers. Even if some of them are indeed still in the country – let’s be honest: you’d much rather stay home and binge-watch all your favourite TV shows. “But there’s a problem!” you cry. You’ve rewatched your favourite series (all six complete seasons) about three times already.

Passenger: A Journey with Raffles Photographic Society

Photography is not just a tool, but also an art. Like other artworks, good photographs inspire, enlighten, and move people, and require careful planning and production to induce such an effect. Through Passenger, Raffles Photographic Society (RPS)’s end-of-year exhibition, our resident photographers bypassed the mere displaying of photography skills, aiming to deliver insight and emotion through photo-taking instead.
