CCA Previews ’26: Guitar Ensemble

The air is still. Fingers rest gently on polished strings, eyes focused, ears tuned—the final seconds before the first strum. The baton lifts. A collective inhale. And suddenly, music. 

It starts as a whisper—a tremble of notes delicately woven together, each guitar line distinct but inseparable. Then, like a wave cresting in sunlight, the music blooms. Emotions rise and fall in arcs of harmony, tension, and release. On stage, we speak not in words, but in six strings and unspoken synchronicity.

CCA Previews ‘26: Chinese Orchestra

The last drops of rain taper off as clouds part slowly above the open-air theatre. The ground still glistens faintly under the lights, damp from the storm, yet brimming with anticipation. The audience leans forward under the deep clearing sky, the air cool and expectant—and then, the music begins. 

From that very first note, the world shifts.

You’ll hear us before you see us: the blaring trumpets, the gusto of the tubas, the ringing piccolo, and the booming of the percussion that signal the arrival of the Raffles Symphonic Band. Established in 1962, Raffles Symphonic Band (RSB) has been mesmerising with their music-making since its inception.
