What do we do?
RCYC members are often on the standby for major school events! At events such as the Team Raffles Games and School Drills, we actively provide first aid coverage and are constantly looking out for the safety of every student. Every member of RCYC will have completed a first aid course within months of joining, providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure that any accidents can be treated right away..
Furthermore, members are trained and work on projects in a variety of domains, such as tutoring, befriending elderly, logistics management, first aid and more. Such experiences would allow members to be experienced in various fields.
Contributing to the Community
As a member of Red Cross Youth Chapter, you will have the opportunity to be trained in life saving skills, such as First Aid, CPR and AED usage. Learning these skills could empower you to respond effectively in emergencies, potentially saving lives in critical situations.
You will also be able to plan and carry out annual blood drives in school! Engaging and encouraging the school population to donate blood, you can help play a part in increasing the number of blood donors in Singapore. 1 bag of blood can save 3 lives, so every drop counts!
You’ll also engage in community service projects, organise blood drives, and coordinate in school wide initiatives, making a positive impact on those around you. By joining, you’ll develop leadership abilities, build a strong network of like-minded peers, and contribute to creating a safer, healthier community. Don’t miss out on the chance to gain invaluable skills and experiences—join Red Cross Youth today!
Why Red Cross Youth Chapter?
If you have a heart of service, a burning desire to make a difference to our vibrant school community and the wider society, while learning valuable life saving skills along the way, we welcome you to RCYC with open arms!
Our CCA is open to all, and no prior skills are needed. RCYC is at the cross-roads of being a service CCA, where we actively contribute to the school population through our various initiatives, while playing a crucial role of providing first aid services for our school and beyond in times of need.
In our CCA, we are always thinking of innovative and creative initiatives to organise for Rafflesians. Some examples are raising awareness of the importance of caring for one’s Physical and Mental Health through a variety of game booths (Health Week), or using the designing and video editing skill sets of our extremely talented members to debunk common first aid myths, to ensure accurate information reaches everyone.
On top of that, CCA sessions are extremely flexible with different agendas that members can freely work on every week. It is a valuable opportunity for one to provide their imaginative and creative ideas with the wings to come into fruition. This unique aspect of our CCA will inevitably create an environment of wholesomeness and unity within your batch, allowing you to become amazing friends both in and out of CCA.
We believe that if you have a heart and mind that is willing to serve the community and immerse yourself in fresh and exciting experiences, there is no other place that you’d rather be than in RCYC.
CCA sessions are held every Wednesday, from 9-10.30am, at A34.
