RI SRC is a CCA where we come together every Wednesday afternoon from 3-5pm to learn and play different sports casually. We conduct PE-like modules, where members have the chance to experience and develop interests in the respective sports, learning at their own pace. Members can decide on the sports they wish to experience through a vote that is conducted after every module.  Each sport module typically lasts about 4-5 sessions, and the 8-10 hours provides members with sufficient time to learn the fundamentals of the sport. One of the aims of the CCA is to spark members’ interest in different sports and provide opportunities for members to pick up basic skills which may further their interest in continuing to play the sport on their own in the future.

The captains, together with the CCA Teacher Mentors conduct the school based modules, planning level appropriate activities to challenge the members.  Apart from this, we also have opportunities to participate in external sports modules such as rock climbing and archery under the guidance of vendors and trained professionals. We have completed many fun and engaging modules, ranging from team based sports such as ultimate frisbee, street netball and volleyball, to more individual sports like table tennis and archery.

Our CCA is for anyone that wants to have more exposure to different sports or have an enjoyable time playing the sports that they love outside of PE classes and in a non-competitive environment. The interactions which the sports allow also help to forge closer bonds amongst the members as we learn and experience the sports together!

SRC does not have any skill nor technical prerequisites for membership and is ready to accept members who are enthusiastic and willing to try a variety of sports, games, and activities. We look forward to welcoming you into RI Sports Recreational Club!
