For millennia, alchemists sought to improve and transmute objects. The creation of gold was of particular interest; imagine the wealth one could gain from generating value out of almost nothing!

In Alchemy Club, knowing with certainty that a fixation on that particular element is unproductive, we explore all areas of chemistry with equal passion. These include drug synthesis, nuclear chemistry, food chemistry to satisfy your inner foodie, as well as recycling – we cover a wide range of topics so that there is something for everyone.

CCA Previews ’17: Chess Club

World chess champion Magnus Carlsen once said, “[The moment] you’re a chess player, you spend a lot of time thinking about the game and you can’t get it completely out of your head.” And he is right. Chess is addictive, regardless of whether you choose to pursue its International or Chinese variant. To most people, chess may appear to be an archaic game, but those who dare to fall in love with the euphoria that comes with an intense battle of wits stay in love forever.

RI Red Cross Youth Chapter seeks to serve the community, whilst developing our members to become better leaders and citizens. CCA Previews ’17: Bridge Club

For those unfamiliar with bridge, it may seem to belong to a large group of card games that are purely luck-based, require no skill and are played late at night during sleepovers or at school camps. Well, this couldn’t be further from the truth. While this may be true of the version of bridge played casually, which is also known as floating bridge, contract bridge is a unique blend of communication, strategy and sometimes calculated risk-taking that is offered by no other mind sport. This is what we, RI Bridge Club, are all about.
