Unleash your creativity at Art Club! Join us to explore diverse artistic mediums and genres, from sketching and digital art, to painting and sculpture. We aim to foster a deep appreciation for the arts and cultivate a sense of service through community-focused art and design projects. Let your imagination soar and make a lasting impact with us at Art Club! We hold our sessions every Wednesday from 8.30 AM – 11AM. Our teacher mentors are Mr. Joel Yuen and Mr. Low Chor Meng, together with our art instructor Ms. Isabella Teng.

Drawing and Painting

Like all traditional art programmes, having a strong foundation in drawing and painting is essential to becoming a successful artist, be it at the amateur or professional level. So, even if you feel that your drawing skills are not fantastic but have great experimental and conceptual ideas about art, this club may still be the right fit for you, because you will have a chance to learn some basic skills like drawing from life models and to mix and apply paint onto canvas in a professional way.

Sculpture

Not every artist thinks or creates in the same way. So, if you have a stronger natural ability with 3D rather than 2D spatial sensing, then sculpture may be a better fit for you instead of drawing and painting. You will have the opportunity to learn how to make your own ceramic vessels that are usable. Yes, you can slurp your ramen with them because all of our ceramics will be fired in the kiln with glazes that are food-grade safe.

Museum Visit

Lastly, there is nothing better than learning how to appreciate art than to see masterpieces in their tangible form in reality. While there is a lot of hype about the alternate forms of reality, ranging from the metaverse to VR and AR, with mixed reality headsets slowly becoming the new normal in the future, nothing can replace the experience of seeing a work of art in person. The colours, the textures, the scale, and the overall presence of a work of art can only be fully appreciated when you are standing in front of it.
