To most people, table tennis is just a sport. However to us, table tennis is not merely a sport – it’s an art. There is much more to this sport than Speed and Strength – it is also requires Strategy and Willpower.
In Table Tennis, we train on Mondays and Fridays from 5pm to 8pm, and on Wednesdays from 2.30pm to 5.30pm. This intense schedule allows us to not only improve on our skills and technique, but at the same time allows us to keep physically fit. At each training session, you can expect a good balance of intensiveness and fun.
This year, the National Inter-School Table Tennis Championship Finals was held on April 21, at the Pasir Ris Sports Hall. You would be astounded by the sheer size and support given to the Table Tennis Team not just from our current Rafflesians (Raffles Institution and Raffles Girls School) family, but also from our alumni and from our player’s parents. The deafening cheers and support were amazing. With the tenacity and grit from all of our players, we were able to retain our gold medals for the male team for the 14th year running, and the 7th year running for the female team. The ecstatic and jubilant expressions on everyone’s faces was a sight to behold. In the end, the whole school came together for a thunderous Unite Cheer, to celebrate the great achievement made on that day. Wouldn’t you want to be part of this thrilling event?
