Mr Ngen of Yuan’s Western Food: Appreciation Week 2014

Many Rafflesians fondly know of Yuan’s Western Food as the stall that remains open till 7 pm, providing them with much-needed sustenance for their mugging marathons or CCA activities. Fewer Rafflesians, though, know that Yuan’s Western Food is by far the oldest stall on campus, and has been in existence since RJ’s first year of operation. As part of Appreciation Week, Raffles Press headed down to speak with the sprightly man behind the counter,  60 year-old Mr. Seow Wei Ngen, to find out more.

Amidst the busy machines and stacks of papers, one can find Annie Kang juggling several duties at once; operating the photocopiers, collecting payment from students and putting together orders for worksheets and lecture notes.

A Kind of Magic: Appreciation Week 2014

The finances of our college don’t work their own magic, but instead, in preparing every budget and expenditure sheet is a team of real people who work their magic and do the math to ensure the health of the school’s financial operations. In trying to find out more about this team, Raffles Press met up with and interviewed Ms Lynette Neo, RI’s Manager of Accounting.
