Hello Year 5s! We’re going straight to the point here, water polo is not for the faint-hearted! However, if you would like to challenge yourself and try something new, this is definitely the CCA for you!

Rest assured that you will be in the good hands of your seniors who will gladly assist you during training. Many of us were new to the sport as well, but under the patient guidance of our coaches, we were all able to pick up the sport relatively quickly! Both the boys’ and girls’ teams managed to take home silver in 2022 and the boys attained Gold for the 2023 A-Division Water Polo National School Games!

CCA Previews ’24: Chinese Orchestra

There are an infinite number of ways to start a Chinese Orchestral piece – quietly, with the ethereal chime of a Yunluo or the soulful tones of the Erhu; or forcefully, the entire orchestra sweeping head-on into an energetic passage, driven by the ever-present heartbeat of its percussion section. 

Crucially, any Chinese Orchestra is defined by the intricate interplay of its five sections: Winds (吹管), Percussion (打击乐), Plucked Strings (弹拨), Bowed Strings (胡琴), and Cellobass (低音弦). RI (Y5-6) Chinese Orchestra is no different.

CCA Previews ’24: Track and Field

What do you picture when you think of Track and Field? Do you envision long, arduous training under the hot sun, sore muscles, and exhausted athletes? With training sessions three times a week, you are absolutely right, though we go much further beyond that.

Because when you look back at your JC days, your fondest memories will be the times we cried, bled, and laughed together. Of course, medals and trophies are wonderful, but the real treasure is the friends we make along the way. They say that the strongest bonds are forged in adversity—when you’re battered and spent, and you can’t depend on your body to move on, what you count on are your teammates.
