With the conclusion of the recent Olympics, many of us who watched it would have been in awe of the runners flying across the track in a blur, the jumpers soaring impossibly far across the sand and arcing gracefully in the air, or maybe even would have looked at the pole vaulters launching themselves fearlessly into the air and thought: how do they even do that?

Well, if you are looking for an answer, look no further! Raffles Track and Field is the place to start making your dreams of becoming a track star come true.

Imagine this: the score is 2-2, 10-9. What’s next is the deciding point that could grant overall victory. The crucial point that could help regain RI’s lost crown. Crowds cheering, sweat dripping, heart racing, you draw one final deep breath.

All sound fades out as you toss the ball high into the air…as the ball rockets back and forth in a blur, the crowd holds its breath, witnessing the astonishing poetry in motion…and POW! With one decisive smash, you seal the victory for Raffles! The crowd erupts, the supporters chant your name, and your teammates charge past the barriers to embrace you, the man-of-the-match. And with that, you cement your legacy in RI as the winner of the 2025 championship.

The rush of adrenaline at the starting whistle, the cheering of the spectators as you run with the ball, and the breathless elation of scoring of a goal… at the heart of each game lies our passion for football.

Desire. Work hard. Believe. This motto pulls us through every training, every win and every loss.

“Wait, you’re in Judo? Can you throw me?”

We sure hope our popularity is as high as people’s hopes to be manhandled by us. Beyond our reputation for being a bunch of gym rats, Judo is much more than meets the eye. For starters, unlike other martial arts, in Judo we do not kick at all.

What exactly do we do, then? That is for you to find out in this article.
