Touch Rugby

This year, touch rugby was played in 10-minute games with 3 attackers against 2 defenders in each game. Teams were mixed, and players were constantly substituted in and out with at least one girl playing in each team at all times.

Each house put up a huge fight, and many had tricks up their sleeves. Despite having to play under the hot sun, every team displayed determination, agility, and the occasional well-executed misdirection.

In the end, HH maintained their lead for the whole game, losing only one match and clinching 1st place. They were followed by MR in 2nd place and BB in 3rd, losing out to MR with a goal difference.

THURSDAY

Water polo

In the blistering heat, teams of 7 gave their all in the brilliant waters of RI Swimming Pool. With at least one girl per team, the teams swam their hardest and played their best, blinking through chlorine in their eyes as they grappled for the ball. BW eventually came in victorious with 1st place, HH as 2nd and MT as 3rd.

Badminton

Badminton was held at the ISH with teams of mixed genders playing doubles. There was determination in everyone’s eyes as they refused to back down, and everyone fought to the best of their ability. “It’s been a rollercoaster ride,” Chew Wei Loon (18S03D) replied sagely when asked for his thoughts on the outcome of the matches.

Fencing

Fencing: an opportunity to stab another human being without the annoyance of blood or a jail sentence. Most participants of the Fencing TRG were unfamiliar with the sport. “I have no idea what I’m doing!” Tan Su Yin (18S03Q) admitted with a laugh.

However, that didn’t stop everyone from putting up a good fight and having fun. Each point scored was met with loud cheers from the crowd, regardless of house. With an outstanding display of patience, determination and agility, MT clinched first place.
